Responsibilities

Essential Duties:

  • Partner with Plant Manager and Operations team on all aspects of the business to drive maximum profitability.
  • Responsible for leading and performing all controlling functions and financial reporting activities including month-end close, P&L preparation, and ownership of assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Perform cost center reporting, material and labor & overhead variance analysis, forecasting, and KPI management.
  • Maintain and report on standard product costs, including cost rolls in SAP as required.
  • Coordinate, support, and report on all inventory-related activities including cycle counting.
  • Key owner of the annual budget and periodic financial forecasts ensuring all objectives are met.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to maintain an environment of internal control and compliance with NGK accounting policies and J-SOX requirements.
  • Safeguard all plant assets including inventory and capital assets via robust processes and internal controls
  • Liaise with Regional Headquarters on key business and accounting issues.
  • Manage plant-level quarterly and year-end internal and external audits.
  • Train and develop direct reports and other associates to be experts on manufacturing processes focusing on measuring and improving profitability.
  • Identify and lead special projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Function as an emergency First Responder per WVSM;
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures which include JSOX, IATF, ISO, ISMS, and Safety related policies.
  • Ensure process achievements and promote customer focus throughout the organization

Qualifications

Academic Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting
  • Eight to 10 years of experience in General Accounting and/or Business with prior leadership experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience, preferably in automotive
  • SAP knowledge required / BPC knowledge is a bonus
  • Strong Cost Accounting experience and analytical skills
  • CPA or CMA preferred
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX or J-SOX) preferred
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Good conflict resolution and analysis skills and experience working in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to communicate via verbal/written to all levels of management
  • Ability to see and hear (correctable)
  • Ability to operate a keyboard
  • Ability to travel via automobile and airplane
  • Comfortable walking the manufacturing floor daily.
